IN DETAIL:
Murmel fur comes from the marmots, the large squirrels in the genus Marmota that live in Asia, Europe and North America. They got their name after their reddish-brown fur and the yellow belly.

The fur is dense and soft providing insulation while the long guard hair provides most of the visible colour of their pelage. Most species vary in forms of earthen-hued brown, but marmots vary in fur coloration which is based roughly on their surroundings. As a consequence, species are more likely to have a paler colour when living in more open habitat while other who live in well-forested regions tend to be darker.

We carefully select all of the raw materials from the best pelts at major auctions both in North America and North Europe, especially from farms in countries of high coldness where animals have got a superior fur.
